The seminar "The Reality of Industry in Lebanon: Problems and Solutions" organized by the Center aimed to review the challenges facing the industrial sector in Lebanon and propose scientific and technological solutions to enhance it. During the seminar, the center's general director, Dr. Daoud Naoufal, provided a comprehensive overview of the center's material and scientific capabilities, emphasizing the potential for establishing new factories and laboratories to stimulate economic and social growth in Lebanon.
The National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) highlighted the challenges facing the industrial sector in Lebanon. It stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between the industrial and scientific sectors to support research, expertise, and necessary training.
The heads of departments in the Ministry of Industry focused on the importance of cooperation among industrialists to increase production efficiency and enhance competitiveness in exports, as well as promoting entrepreneurship and innovation, along with encouraging student visits to factories for practical education.
Additionally, heads of industrialists emphasized the importance of research and development, improving quality and efficiency in production, enhancing trade agreements with foreign partners, and utilizing laboratory services to ensure accurate results.
Chambers of commerce, industry, and agriculture in Beirut and South Lebanon pointed out the importance of innovation and attracting traditional and medium sectors, supporting innovation to boost job opportunities and economic growth, drawing lessons from successful experiences such as Argentina's expenditure rationalization policy post-crisis.
The seminar concluded with a strong emphasis on implementing new projects based on scientific research and technology to solve local challenges, encouraging investment in the industrial sector, and supporting projects aligned with modern technological advancements and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
